We're building the database monitoring platform that should exist in 2026: agent-native, AI-ready, and priced so every database can be monitored, not just the expensive ones.
What is Basira
Basira is a cloud-hosted SaaS product. You install a single Go agent next to your PostgreSQL or ClickHouse database, and it streams performance telemetry to our hosted platform. There is no on-premise version, no professional services contract, and no per-seat charge. Just a flat $29 per database per month.
The product is designed from day one to be installed and operated by AI coding agents: one Helm command, read-only database access, no inbound ports, no custom extensions. That's what we mean by agent-native.
We support PostgreSQL and ClickHouse today, with MySQL and additional engines on the roadmap. ClickHouse, in particular, is a market gap that almost no monitoring vendor addresses well, and one of the reasons Basira exists.
Who's behind Basira

Founder
Behroz is a software engineer who built Basira after years of fighting with database monitoring tools that were either too expensive, too shallow, or didn't support the engines he actually used in production.
Basira is the monitoring platform he wanted: deep enough to debug a real production incident, cheap enough to deploy on every database, and simple enough that an AI agent can install it without a human in the loop.
Why we're building this
Every team running a non-trivial database knows the pattern: you start with whatever your cloud provider gives you, hit its limits, evaluate Datadog or New Relic, and walk away from the quote. So you settle for shallow dashboards, or you build something in-house that no one maintains.
The market has been stuck this way for a decade. The pricing models reward usage, not insight. The setup flows assume a human will click through them. And the engines that actually need help, like ClickHouse, are barely supported.
Basira is the response. Flat per-database pricing means cost grows with your fleet, not your traffic. Agent-native install means an AI agent can deploy it. Engine-specific telemetry means we surface what matters for your database, not a generic graph.
